The strength of a seaport lies in the stakeholders that participate in its supply chain. These stakeholders consist of terminal operators, shipping lines, freight forwarders, road and rail operators, federal authorities, and the other countless operators that are involved in moving goods along.
Nicom Maritime, a division of Nicom IT Solutions of Halifax won a contract to install a seaport software system for the Port of Beaumont in Beaumont, Texas.
Earlier in the year, Nicom put into production for the Port of Halifax an “Enhanced Container Tracking” web application, which answers the question definitively, “Where is my container?”. That seems to be a simple enough question, but if the answer is “over there, see, under that stack of other containers,” then that doesn’t do you much good.
After many months of work, our own Mike Hatfield is a published author. His technology book, “CoffeeScript Application Development Cookbook” has been published and is now available on the Packt and Amazon websites.
Kudos to Charles and Orin in our Technical Support team for having done a seamless in-house migration to Office 365. The event was carefully planned, the instructions very well communicated, and the execution flawless. Now Nicom doesn’t just install clients on cloud computing – we actually use it ourselves!
